Robust, hearty and deep. Light coffee lovers need not apply.
This coffee comes from an importer/friend of ours who specializes in Indonesian and Indian coffees. This year’s coffee is exceptional!
It has more pronounced fruit this year backed up by the nice bold, earthy flavor and body we expect from Sumatra. One of our cuppers thought it was an African coffee during our blind-tasting.
This wild earthiness reflects the area where it’s grown. It is grown in a tropical forest on the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions ever. Lake Toba is almost 20 miles wide and sits at about 3,000 feet in elevation. The climate and soil make for perfect conditions for the local Batak small holders to grow this special coffee.
