Renewal — a chant

but sometimes the stains
are the most beautiful parts

…These sacrifices on formerly pristine alters

And sometimes old flames
must be extinguished
in order to found new hearths

…These fires that warm once cold and broken hearts

This is a lovely poem. These words “new hearths… fires that warm once cold and broken hearts” are particularly poignant.
