Inversions (Recorded by Emily)

There is a bird that has no earthly business here

When the sun rises
Ask yourself why

Before the thunder
Before the rain
Before the wind

The earth calls
It pulls

There is a bird that has no earthly business here

The two ends of inversion meet
In its wings

And it bursts forth into a sky of opposites

White stars shining down
In blackest night

When the sun rises
Ask yourself why
